Online timer

Set a duration, press start, and keep the remaining time in view.

05:00

Ready

300 seconds left of 300.

Space starts or pauses. R resets. F fills the screen.

Sound is off until you press Start or Preview sound. A finished timer can only ring while this tab is open.

Saves the length, sound, label, and display in this browser. A running timer is left alone until you reset it.

How to use it

  1. Set hours, minutes, and seconds, or pick a preset. The 5, 10, 15, and 30 minute pages open with that duration already set. The timer stays idle until you press Start. For a focus block followed by a break, use the Pomodoro timer.
  2. Pause keeps the remaining time. A refresh keeps a paused timer paused.
  3. A running timer stores its deadline. Coming back shows the time left, or Finished if the deadline passed.
  4. Preview sound before you rely on it. The chime plays only while this tab is open.
  5. Fullscreen puts the remaining time in the center of the screen. Press Escape or Exit to leave.

Limits to know

  • There is no background timer. Closing the tab or sleeping the device can miss the sound.
  • If the device clock jumps during a running countdown, Clockbeam keeps the remaining interval and shows a note.
  • Share setup sends the duration and sound, not a live remote control. The label is included only if you turn that on.

Questions

Does the countdown keep running if I refresh?

A running timer resumes from its saved deadline. A paused timer stays paused. If the deadline already passed, the timer shows finished and does not play a late sound from the reload.

Why did the timer finish without a sound?

Sound starts only after you press Start or Preview sound, and only if a sound is selected. A hidden or sleeping browser cannot promise playback.

Can I save a timer for next time?

After a timer finishes, you can name it and save it in this browser. You can also save, export, and delete setups from Customize.
