Online stopwatch

Start timing, record laps, and export the splits when you are done.

00:00.00

Ready. Time away from this tab is included.

Space starts or pauses. R resets. F fills the screen.

Press Lap while the stopwatch is running. Split is the time since the previous lap. Total is the time from the start.

How to use it

  1. Press Start. The elapsed time uses a monotonic clock while the tab is visible.
  2. Lap records a split since the previous lap and a total from the start.
  3. Export CSV downloads those two columns. Clear laps asks before deleting them.
  4. Reset with recorded laps also asks before it clears the time and the list.
  5. Fullscreen puts the elapsed time in the center of the screen. Press Escape or Exit to leave.
  6. Need a fixed ending instead of a count up? Use the timer, including the 5 minute and 30 minute countdowns.

Limits to know

  • Time away from the tab is included. That matches a stopwatch you left running, and it is not a lab-certified measurement.
  • If the device clock jumps backward across a reload, the stopwatch shows a recovery note instead of inventing a negative time.

Questions

What is the difference between split and total?

Split is the time since the previous lap, or since the start for the first lap. Total is the elapsed time at the moment you pressed Lap.

Does the stopwatch pause when I switch tabs?

No. Coming back adds the time you were away. Pause is the control that stops the count.
