What stays on this device

Display settings, named setups, and the active timer, stopwatch, or alarm are stored in local storage in this browser under keys that start with clockbeam:. Clockbeam does not require an account, and it does not upload those setups.

Shared links

A setup link keeps the configuration in the URL fragment after the #. That fragment is not sent to the server with the page request. Anyone you send the link to can read what is in it, including a label if you chose to include one. Do not put private names in a shared label.

Analytics

Clockbeam loads Ahrefs from analytics.ahrefs.com and Seline from cdn.seline.com on the main site. Both record page views. The embeddable widgets and the OBS overlay pages do not load those scripts. Seline also receives coarse events such as tool_started, preset_saved, theme_change, widget_embed_copy, or overlay_link_copy. Those events do not include labels, preset names, city names, alarm times, searched text, embed code, overlay headings, target times, or a copied setup. Seline's page view records the path, and a query string on that path is included with it. The part of the address after # is not.

The snippets do not turn on cookie mode. Ahrefs says its default tracker does not use cookies, does not store raw IP addresses, and keeps location no finer than a city. Seline says its default tracker does not set a cookie and counts a daily visitor from a hash that changes each day. Their notes are on Ahrefs and Seline. This page describes the scripts that load. It does not decide whether a consent banner is required.
