A starting-soon card with a countdown. Set the length or an event time, then paste the URL into OBS.

How to use it

  1. Open Overlay Studio and choose Starting soon.
  2. Edit the heading and the optional second line. The heading defaults to Starting soon.
  3. Use a duration, or switch to an event time if the stream starts at a clock time.
  4. Copy the browser source URL into OBS at 1920 by 1080.
  5. When the countdown reaches zero it stays on Done until you change the length or the event time.

Limits to know

  • The card is one overlay. It does not place video, chat, or other scenes.
  • Reload behavior matches the countdown overlay: an event time or an anchored duration keeps its end, and a plain duration is local to that browser source.
  • The overlay does not play a chime.

Questions

Can the starting soon text be something else?

Yes. Change the heading and the second line in Overlay Studio. The text is plain. Markup is removed.

Does starting soon keep counting after OBS reloads the source?

Set an event time, or press Anchor to now for a duration. Both put the end in the URL. Without that, the browser source remembers a duration only on this computer.
